SESQUICENTENNIAL
HOSPITALITY AT RIZVI
‘HOSPITALITY' is an
annual tradition at Rizvi and this year it was conducted as part of
the ongoing sesquicentennial celebration of the
University of Mumbai .
Rizvi college of Hotel Management is
a premier institute, training students for a career in hotel
industry. We at Rizvi firmly believe in the old age philosophy as
propagated by Kautilya that -Degrees alone are not enough.
During their three years course
students need to walk that extra mile to enhance their practical
knowledge. In order to achieve that a lot of responsibility is
shouldered by the faculty, representatives from the industry and the
students themselves. The college faculty is in constant touch with
the hotels to understand the industry's specific needs and the same
input is passed on to the students. The students on their part do a
lot of self-learning when sent for training in the hotels. It is
with this compatible liaisoning that we stride forward to achieve
our objective of grooming students, who then step into the world
with confidence & self pride.
Hospitality is an
endeavor and a step in the direction of strengthening the students
and combining academics with practical knowledge. It is a forum
wherein students from Catering Colleges all over India get together
to participate and compete, to bring to the fore their individual
skills and talent in the core areas of Hospitality Industry namely,
Front Office, Food Production, Food & Beverage Service
and House Keeping.
This year the participants were from
the length and breadth of the country, viz, Bangalore , Tamil Nadu,
Hyderabad , Nashik, Nagpur , Pune, Mumbai. The event lasted three
days which were jam packed with action. Competitions were organized,
battle field was set and for once it was a war of intellect and
talent.
The meritorious of them all, took the
trophies and medals and emerged as winners with the tag of an
‘Expert' which they will cherish with pride and responsibility.
